Hey everyone!
It’s time for an exciting update on my current project, Shadows of the Watchers (working title)! For those of you who have been following along, you know this book has been a long time coming, born from the short story The Watchers Redemption. I’m thrilled to announce that I’m in the final stages of editing and bringing this epic dark fantasy tale closer to its full potential.
Where I’m At:
Right now, I’ve just finished editing through Chapter 19, and I’m working on polishing up one more chapter and then the epilogues. It’s been a rewarding challenge, delving even deeper into the themes of fallen angels, ancient prophecies, and celestial warfare. There’s so much to unpack in this story, and it’s all coming together in ways that I’m incredibly excited about.
But the journey isn’t over yet! Before I can start sending this book out into the world, I’ll be finalising these edits in preparation for a beta reader read-through. This is a crucial step in the process, where I’ll be looking for feedback on pacing, character development, and overall flow to ensure the story resonates as strongly as possible.
The Road Ahead:
Once the final beta read-through is complete, I plan to submit this book to a few carefully selected agents. It’s always a nerve-wracking but thrilling process, hoping to find someone who will connect with the story and help bring it to a wider audience. As many of you know, the world of querying can be unpredictable, and while I’m optimistic, I’m also prepared for different outcomes.
Self-Publishing as Plan B:
If the book doesn’t get picked up through traditional publishing, I won’t let that stop me. I’ll pursue self-publishing, which is something I have done before with my other books. At the end of the day, my goal is to get this story into the hands of readers who will appreciate its world and characters, whether through an agent or independently.
It’s been a long, creative journey with this book, and I’m so grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received along the way. I’m excited to keep pushing forward and see where this next phase leads!
